Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur (GKL) is set for an extension in their facilities following an agreement signing with Pelaboran Hartanah Berhad (PHB). This agreement will kick start preparations to build a 10-storey block, especially designed for a comprehensive suite of modern healthcare facilities. Construction is set for December this year and its completion is projected for 2014.
This building will house a new trauma centre which includes an Accident & Emergency department with an integrated Walk-in Centre, new operating theatres for elective day surgery and emergency surgery, diagnostic centre, as well as spacious outpatient department with new consultants’ suites and inpatient wards.
“Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur is a name synonymous to quality medical and healthcare services. Our commitment to comprehensive patient care is of utmost importance to us. This means that we invest a lot in ensuring that our patient experience is as comfortable as possible while they seek treatments and care within our facilities. This new 10-storey block is just one of the ways which we work to deliver the high standard of care to our local and international patient community,” said Amir Firdaus Abdullah, Regional Chief Executive Officer of Gleneagles Hospitals.
The development of this new, healthcare facility block also works to accommodate the greater demand in quality medical and patient care by the local and expatriate community. GKL’s expansion plans also include an increase of 100-bed capacity, 40 specialist clinics and other state-of-the-art facilities needed to fulfill its role as a credible, tertiary care provider.
“Gleneagles is a top-notch, JCI accredited healthcare facility which is highly regarded as one of the leading healthcare service providers in the region. By being trusted by so many, in health, medicine and well-being, we put it upon ourselves to set our own benchmarks to exceed current frontiers in top of the line healthcare while delivering a personable patient experience,” said Amir.
